Chonkinfeckle are really chuffed to be asked back to play at Uke-a-Bay in Colwyn bay. It really is a highlight in our calendar, as we have made so many great friendships over the years, and we just seem to pick up where we left off!
We have had a busy year since we last came to Colwyn bay, a highlight was playing the Lowry Theatre in Salford with BBC Radio Manchester. Sharing the stage with the likes of Russell Watson, Mike Sweeney, Jon Culshaw and Dan Walker.
Two days after the Lowry gig, Les unfortunately suffered a slight stroke, followed by another small stoke at the end of January this year. But like the trooper he is, he is back up and strumming and writing new songs all the time.
Les worked on a new album of Cigar Box Guitar music, called ‘Voodoo Stick’. all part of his therapy to get back playing again. He is giving the album away, along with a PDF book, all he asks that you donate a small amount of money to the Stroke Association. You can get the album by emailing Les.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at another fantastic Uke-a-Bay weekend!
Thanks to Andrew Stuart for the photos of last year’s Sunday Session.
