Meet The Ukulele Maker Festival 2018

As part of his ‘giving back’ to the ukulele community after 23 years of building ukulele, Pete Howlett and his wife Helen (who run the International Ukulele Building School at their workshop in North Wales) are planning a new event: ‘Meet the Ukulele Maker Festival’ The Festival will start with an open mic session on Friday evening. Saturday will showcase the work of amateur and professional ukulele makers who will have work on display and be available to answer questions. There will be workshops and an evening concert.

The main venue is the former country house: Plas Tan y Bwlch (now the Snowdonia National Park Environmental Studies Centre) situated in Gwynedd near the Lleyn Peninsular. The house has several spaces for ‘break out’ sessions including the café patio terrace overlooking the Afon Dwyryd. Concerts will be held in the library and in the theatre.

(Full board and accommodation available at the main venue: Friday evening dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and admission to all workshops and concert. Sunday breakfast and lunch £160. Day tickets £45 with the option of adding on meals.)
